I have had the pleasure of experiencing psilocybin a few times throughout my life. One of the most perplexing aspects is the communal nature of the experience. Psilocybin starts to take effect in a communal way through infectious yawns – yawning is communal and public, if one person yawns, the other will too.
Later in the experience, I will be able to see the same images as those who are with me, which makes the claim of ‘it’s all in your mind’ very ambiguous.
There has to be something going on that is both internal and external here, something that is shared.
