Human history does not begin before a human being wakes up and sees and seems to remember what they see. Humans are not born into history, as far as one can tell, but rather seem to be born into the human condition, which is composed of haste and glued together by conjecture.
The human condition has apparently changed very little. When introduced into the world, we are told certain things almost in the manner of an in-game immersive tutorial. We are introduced into a situation with an established past and present, and are told that our future or actions are also important for our survival and success at surviving and gaining resources which are valued, but we are usually told this in an indirect way through implications.
We hear certain words in our languages that also imply things. We hear the words created, made, happened, happens, became, becomes, and other words which seem to at least subconsciously imply things to our understanding.
There is an implicit and natural religion which seems to be shared by all things. An acknowledgment of the natural world or our surroundings and reality as true, which means having or giving the impression of having real, or lasting impact and consequences. With this comes an ever growing Terror of harms, and an immediate seeking of comfort, safety, stability, and survival.
Here it is. It is as real as we can possibly say, it is the definition of real, and it is manifest before us. The senses, the feelings, the changes or appearance of motion.
The terrifying threats, the pleasurable comforts.
The Good and the Evil are apparent to mankind as the pleasurable and protaganist empathized with, the guardian and the body, and the obstruction or harmer or frightener the evil, that which stands in the way. Experiments have been performed on babies which seem to show this understanding is present in them as well even in relation to animated shapes perceived actions.
Animals are also angered by the same sort of things, and insects and even plants all seem to share an understanding regarding threats and flight and seeking resources.
Thus, life is a kind of grasping. Away from death, towards pulling oneself further along into life. Though many might say, it leads to the same goal and place.
For those with vision, light seems to strike the most interest and attraction and appeal. For those who are without vision, the darkness and the light remain indistinguishable, though suffering can be distinguished from pleasure, unless those senses are removed as well. The one without any senses, does not know anything, nor can be reached, they are completely dependent yet are not even aware of the care they may be receiving.
In any case, the one who does have senses, is in a world filled with what appears to give sensory responses.
It isn’t long before Reality itself, Nature, or the Winds, the Power which seems to move things invisibly and cause changes, is acknowledged as a present and nearby force. It is moving afterall, and so like we move, and push along, and roll things away, it too appears very much alive and life itself.
It is not the things it blows along or pushes around, but an actor like we act upon thingsd but do not consider those objects ourselves or our bodies.
It is to this great power we give thanks to, and it is this great power we and the animals and the trees all fear and shudder from, the Wild and Uncontrollable but Orderly or Repeating.
Then it so happens, that on the off days, one may gradually speak of things anthropomorphically, then generations come along and in no time the One has many extensions, names, aspects, then divisions, and images, and are many.
The One before the Many, made up of much, and much made up!
These devised names and excesses of people, cause disputes among them, becoming lost in contention rather than returning to the basics. The notion of a more nostalgic golden age before conflict then seems to appear. When it was just man and God and the beasts. Now there are many more people, and they all bark their opinions and start to threateningly gesture with their hands.
War. War is always the fight between Good and Evil. Those Forces of Obstruction and Harm have now taken patrons, while the forces of comfort and Good have chosen their friends as well among their seekers. Though when asked, generally both sides seem to have the same ideals and wishes for themselves, the Winner will be the only one left to speak, and if Good is what they called themselves, like the opposition, it shall be the tale of Good conquering Evil one way or another, especially because it is Good to Conquer and Good to Win. In this way, The Good never Loses and The Evil can never win.

The 1 the 2 and the 3, The two being Division followed by Conflict or even an inverted effort to make or force 2 back into 1 and it leads to 3, Domination and Dominion. 4 leads us back to the start, then it repeats again, a one and a two and a one two three four! The heralrdy of Evil is made up of all things deemed a threat. Things which carry ill omens or disease or are otherwise frightening or fearful. The Good are permitted to use these same symbols, but in this case it is meant to refer to these forces being channeled into the service of Good, rather than left untamed by those closer to the Wild. The Wild is not their friend, but rather they are an extension of it, the Armies of Darkness, Darkness being difficult to see and thus difficult to anticipate or predict.
Those predictable things are all rather favorable, the rising of the sun, the love of a mother for the child of her labors. Whatever is an abberation is infested with wildness and is fit for the forest, where only abandoned ruins lay as homes for ravening beasts, bandits, madmen, and all the evil and unclean disorderly spirits.
If the Good ever uses these things or techniques, it is only to subvert them to the purposes of Good, tamed and obedient, frightening away Evil with its own mirror image.
In the Forest there are Hardy Men, Naked and covered in hair, having been accustomed to the civility of beasts and their society. These men speak of a time long past, where man knew God as they wandered the forest, but now they are vestiges of a past known only as a dream, and kept from the city. When they wander in, their madness is laid bare, as they can never be anything but nude, even when dressed.
I too find such an unfavorable situation and would never seek it, but there is news from lands alien and exotic of a people who are wild men like these, who have taken to imitating the mannerisms of Society as far as they can manage, bringing the Evil of Untamed Nature into the semblance of The Good, yet all they can do is Rage, for afterall the Wild is only Fear and Fury, even if it puts on a crown and calls itself King for a day.
These apish creatures and giants and men tied closely to their horses as centaurs, hordes of the Unholy forces of the carnal, seek to revert mankind into a Golden Age of terror under Cronos their God, who eats all Gods and makes them as One.
Already the lands to the East have been overrun, and their babbeling can be heard from a Universal Empire surrounding us as an Island of Light.
In the North, like their Evil Star, they shift in the cold and darkness of the forests as wolves, in the service of one master they call Governer. It is not a man, but the Serpent of Nature itself which they follow blindly even as it harms them. They consider themselves helpless before it, an irony for such stout men to grovel and prostrate before it like starving mad hags or frightened hounds.
To the East, they have their great Domain, a land of towers which make terrifying calls which gather their forces like so many innumerable black ants. Here they worship the Moon Horned God of their Fathers, Evil itself, and Dark Magic, their sorceries inspired by none other than the mysteries held deep under the Earth, and far into the sky. Their God is known as Destroyer, and all they do is Destroy. Wherever they go, light is turned to darkness, and sight is turned to blindness, as no further news comes of them except inklings from spies who manage to return.
We have expelled as many of these as we can from our lands, and otherwise keep a vigilant and suspect eye upon those who even speak well of the foul things of the Earth, that being the North, the East, and the South.
The South is a land of animals, of backwards peoples who are associated with fire and heat, as they appear roasted themselves and nearest to the sun, dancing among fires in the night. They imitate beasts, as do those in the North, and their Sciences are of a nature less refined than those transformed in the faculties of the East which are under the watch of the Evening Star.
The Heraldry of all these, and the marks by which they are known, are the Moon, the Stars, Mercury, Venus, and Saturn, The Cube, The Eye, The Hand, The Horns.
They themselves dawn horns, and are like cattle before this unseen force or the night winds of malign attribution.
On their shields are Serpents, Swine, Bats, Wolves, Ravens, Bears and monstrous depictions of men or giants. These they also imitate and take as themselves.
They call upon many names of every force of evil, and appear to be in communion with these forces or this force, as they appear to have assemblies where their orders are dictated to them, and the mad rattle at the calls of their sattelites wherever they may be held.
Though we are surrounded, and Chaos swarms around us like disease bearing flies, we hold out hope that the weeds will not outgrow a garden well maintained by an active generation.

Haha, now the joke here in what I wrote and its curiousity, is that these sorts of tales have existed around the whole world in both historical accounts supposed to be real and fictional stories. The Egyptians were besieged by the Terror from the East, North, and South, the English, the Zoroastrians, the Arabs, the Jews, the Chinese.
The East are imitators who have organized their non-human or barely human people, the North are ancient wild men under the same dictates as the East, the South are bestial and primitive but also part of this Universal army of evil.
This is not just something in Medieval writing that popped up in Tolkien, but appears repeatedly throughout History. In Iran the Turanians were the villains and before that the Daeva worshippers of thr East. To the Greeks the vast Eastern Empire was sometimes a threat, and to the Egyptians they were besieged from the East, surprise attacked from the North just as the Vikings had attacked coasts, an older “Sea Peoples” had terrorized the histories before. The same associations are joined up as well. A survey of the information can lead to a really strange sense of History repeating itself no matter where it is said to be located.
Even within Japan, a narrow Island, we have the same ideas repeat. Finally, reaching the Eastern shore, one would expect an end to trend, but then they were besieged from the East with Cannons just as the Turks had besieged Byzantium and the Natives of the Americas were attacked from the East.
This appears almost something like the seasons themselves, repeating as a timeless historical trope, which accumulates strangely into a massive but entirely congruent army of Evil that perpetually besieges humanity in all their stories.
Huns, Mongols, Muslims, Persians, Turanians, Indians. In every microcosm the same troubles come again from the North by surprise, from the East with surprising Sophistication or Technologies or Organization or Skills, from the South as Ancient remnants that are left backwards or less tamed or modern.
Even in the United States these trends were present repeatedly.

China, Egypt, Israel, England. Meanwhile, others would repeatedly view imposition coming from the West’s Civilizing efforts as a threat though the West would tend to Win and then Glorify Itself. Egypt imposing Eastward, Persia imposing Eastward, China within China imposing Eastward, England imposing Eastward all in efforts to civilize which were taken as Western Oppression or Dominion by an alien force which ought not be there. This motion also occurred in India. The Eastern Motion was always deemed as some sort of Divine Force of Nature and Wildness incarnate, but the Western Motion East was repeatedly referred to in terms of measures to control and contain threats or spread civilization or order to a wild people or false imitators in the case of the East as Pseudo-Nations.

The History of The One Religion becomes very old in this way. The associations become pre-historic, as well as the tropes and conventions of the stories. Mankind is said to have spread Civilization or Humanity in a North Westward direction out of Africa, and like strokes and layers of paint the same story seems to replay. The Earth itself spins in a certain direction and makes the sun appear to rise and set in certain directions with various people at various times with the suns to their backs at various times of the Days. -
